Along with the tourism Company and the Department of Agriculture, it offers two interesting worlds to our visitors; tourism and agriculture. Since this complex is unique in its class in Puerto Rico, it will give you series of facilities and unique services oriented to recognizing the distinct branches of agriculture developed in the west central area in Puerto Rico.
Hacienda el Jibarito is an antique in its time. It was a farm that produced sugar cane from 1940-1980. Puerto Ricos agriculture is an innovative project which involves rural places, living and participate the culture of our land. On the Hacienda we have a beautiful pond with exotic fish; we also have ranches with sheep, goats and a selection of chicken and roosters. In our cultivating land we grow oranges also an enclosed space which we produce tomatoes, peppers and lettuces which we distribute to our restaurants to be used in our exquisite plates. Most of our areas have a very significant history. For example our restaurant Las Delicias Restaurant Gastronomic Culture Al'Diente Toro gets it name from a historic building in our town that was used for food sales. Another place of importance is our Bar and Grill named The Alembic which means the distillation of illegal rum.
This complex by being the first one in its class offers some facilities and unique services oriented to recognize the different agricultural branches that develop in the central western area. The agrotourism was born in the decade of the fifty in Europe and North America.It is given in the framework of a deep change in the tourism in consequence of the new interests and inclinations that express the world tendencies. Of these they are emphasized especially two. The first one, that says that the tendency of the tourism is toward a polarization of the inclinations among the lovers of the adventure and the comfort; and the second, speaks us of the development of the chosen markets of products, especially thematic.They tend to combine the three E (entertainment, excitement and education) in replacement of the first four (4) S (sex, sand, sun and sea).
