Our hotel transports to the place where the Conqueror Juan Ponce of Leon stepped on the island of Puerto Rico for the first time and where he knew the great Agueybaná Cacique. Constructed in the decade of the "Fabulous 20" and surrounded by extensive balconies to round return, the hotel offers a singular atmosphere.
The
Parador Guanica 1929 Hotel was constructed in 1929 and then called the American Hotel, located in the historical Bay of Cove, where the high civil employees of the Embosomed Sugar Power station in the last century stayed themselves. The Inn Guánica 1929 is the first Hotel School in Puerto Rico where it will share with the future industrialists and workers of the tourist industry (AAFET). Recovered and remodeled obtaining an exquisite decoration in all its 27 rooms and adding air condition, cable tv and private baths. We have two swimming pools, Vista to the bay, basketball court as well as a Volleyball playing area and other areas of relaxation. In our restaurant you can enjoy exquisite plates and tropical drinks.
The municipality of Guánica is one of most photogenic of all Puerto Rico. Their beaches Fat Cane, Beach Santa, Manglillo Pequeño and Jaboncillo are classified as both clean and the beautiful ones of the Island. The coastal mounts contain ruins of fortifications like the Caprón Fort and the old Light. Key Whale and Gilligan's Island are favorites of tourists and can be visited by ferry. If you like long walks you can visit the dry Forest of Guánica and explore tens of footpaths of this unique biosphere in the planet. In the levee front to the spectacular entrance of the bay you can visit the point where American troops entered the year of 1898. You can return to the past visiting the Property Equality and the religious museum located in the Property Santa Rita.
The Inn Guánica 1929 is located in the historical one originally built to serve for the high executives, investors, politicians and tycoons who visited the sugar power station of Guánica founded in 1909 and operated by the South Puerto Rican Sugar Company (SPRSCo). Under the assertive direction of Adrian Greif and after French T. Maxwell the SPRSCo became one of the most powerful of the world. In the town stories of people are listened to whom they indicate that President Theodore Roosevelt stayed himself in the hotel of the sugar power station in his visit to the Island. Nowadays, 75 years after the construction of the concrete structure, the new owners, Juán and his wife Maria of Carmen have completely recovered the hotel to turn it into one of the best inns of the southwestern area of the Island maintaining their atmosphere and the architecture of the "Fabulous 20."
