Welcome to Villa of the Sea Two small bays, surrounded by manglares, have turned to the pueblito of Lajas in one of the visited tourist attractions more of the Caribbean. The reason: microorganisms, scientifically classified like dinoflagelados, that when feeling any movement, emit a strange greenish light that illuminates waters of the bay of a way that it pretends to be supernatural.

At the pre-Columbian time, the Indians brought offerings to the Gods of the bay that, according to their creyencias, replaced to the town foods by day to him and green fire at night. The best moment to observe this peculiar natural phenomenon is during the nights without moon. The Inn Villa of the Sea rests in a hill near the bay and offers to the visitor a beautiful panoramic Vista from the same room.

Dos pequeñas bahías, rodeadas de manglares, han convertido al pueblito de Lajas en una de las atracciones turísticas más visitadas del Caribe. La razón: unos micro-organismos, científicamente clasificados como dinoflagelados, que al sentir cualquier movimiento, emiten una extraña luz verdosa que ilumina las aguas de la bahía de una manera que aparenta ser sobrenatural.

En la época precolombina, los indios traían ofrendas a los dioses de la bahía que, según sus creyencias, le suplían al pueblo alimentos de día y fuego verde de noche. El mejor momento para observar este curioso fenómeno natural es durante las noches sin luna. El Parador Villa del Mar descansa en una colina cerca de la bahía y ofrece al visitante una hermosa vista panorámica desde la misma habitación.

FROM SAN JUAN AIRPORT:
Take EXPRESS ROAD # 2 south (Luis A. Ferre) to Ponce, keep on the express to the west until you reach
Yauco, there go to your left enter road 116, pass Guanica, look for road 304, once you enter road 304, look for second road ( Albizu Campos) left, go up the hill and at the end find villadelmar.

FROM SAN JUAN AIRPORT:
EXPRESS ROAD # 2( Luis A. Ferre) to Ponce, keep on to the west until you reach San German, pass a Hospital to your right an enter road 361 to your left and will find us K.0 -H-8.
